In the fall of 2007 I felt a
twinge in my right shoulder; however, I ignored it since I thought I
had slept on it wrong. Eventually I realized that it was not
something that I did from sleeping on it, but continued to ignore it
thinking it would eventually go away. I ignored if for two months,
until the pain could not be ignored, in fact, the pain became
unbearable.
The Osteopath that I saw for diagnosis and
resolution told me that it was frozen shoulder. I proceeded to see
him for therapy from Nov 2007-Mar 2008. It was the most
excruciating therapy I have ever experienced. Every appointment
resulted in tears. If my shoulder would have improved, I guess it
might have been worth it, but it did not. I sought another
chiropractor’s help but she was not familiar with frozen shoulder.
I found Dr. Leroy on the
internet of April of 2008. He is the only expert I could find in
the area that focused on frozen shoulder. I should note that I live
in CT and he practices in NJ – that is how desperate I was for
help. I had very limited use of my right arm. I could barely place
my hand in my back pocket, could not blow dry my hair without
extreme pain, could not wear pullover shirts (to name a few) and was
in constant pain.
I saw Dr. Leroy for the first time in May of
2008. He confirmed that I had frozen shoulder and explained a
little about the Neil-Asher technology. I could not wait to get
started since this was the first doctor that seemed to truly
understand how to deal with frozen shoulder. As we began the first
session, I was a little nervous. All my previous therapy sessions
were extremely stressful. Not this time!! Dr. Leroy focused on the
pain areas, but worked with me to make them more tolerable. After
the very first session, my shoulder felt a little better. I could
not believe it.
I definitely did not expect to
feel any change after just the first visit, but I did. It was
amazing to me since I had attended therapy for months with no
progress. I saw Dr. Leroy once a week for several months. Each
week we made progress with the pain, gradually the pain reduced each
visit. I eventually regain full use of my shoulder – something I
never thought possible.
I recommend Dr. Leroy without
reservation. He is personable, makes the patient feel comfortable
and specializes in something that very few do.

In August of 2009, I had rotator cuff surgery for
a tear and manipulation for a frozen shoulder. This was recommended
to me by my orthopedist after physical therapy and cortisone
injections failed. After the surgery, the manipulation was not
successful and my shoulder was still frozen, and I was in a lot of
pain. My orthopedist prescribed physical therapy and then another
cortisone injection which did not help. He then advised me to
switch to another physical therapist. After a few more weeks of
therapy my frozen shoulder was not improving. The physical therapy
seemed to only increase the pain.
I found Dr. LeRoy after an
extensive internet search for someone who could help with my frozen
shoulder. Since seeing him I have gained almost full mobility. My
pain level decreased after a few visits with him, and I was able to
get off my pain medication.
I highly recommend Dr. LeRoy. With each visit,
he spent time to talk to me and answer any questions that I had. It
was not an impersonal in and out visit.
